TV personality Paula Deen did an interview with People Magazine on May 20th, where she revealed that she has lost 30 pounds since announcing 6 months ago that she was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.

The chef who is famous for her southern style of cooking (she often uses butter, lard and sugar in her meals) surprised many of her viewers in January when she said that she was diabetic for 3 long years and had finally decided to open up about her health issue because she was ready to take measures to improve her life.

The host of Paula’s Party and Paula’s Best Dishes told the publication that small changes in her diet contributed to the weight lost. Deen said:

“If you make a few small changes, they can add up to big results.”

The writer of Lady & Sons Savannah Country Cooking and The Lady & Sons Savannah Country Cooking 2 who is often slammed for still promoting greasy hamburgers, cakes, cookies, doughnuts and deep fried chicken in her series has become a paid spokesperson Victoza which is a Type 2 diabetes drug made by Novo Nordisk.

Many believe that Deen is losing the pounds for money.
