Keep Weight Off:Web Helps – The web can be a great way to help individuals learn how to lose weight.
The truth of the matter is that many people would like to lose weight, but are not sure how to go about it. Sure, they know that they need to eat less and exercise more, but that certainly is not enough information to get them started. Using the power of the web, you can learn how to effectively use weight.
A recent study that was published today in the Journal of Medical Internet Research had individuals lose 9 points using diet and moderate exercise. They had to lose at least nine pounds to make the second tier of the trial, which concentrated on helping them maintain their weight loss. They attended weekly group meetings, and read information on eating right.

Those who lost weight were assigned one of three programs.
One that involved monthly meetings, one that was self-directed, and one that was internet directed. Those that were involved in the Internet directed program generally were able to keep the weight off much easier than the individuals who attended the other programs. The power and wealth of information available on the Internet is so fast that individuals found it easier to prepare meals that would fit their diet.
The Internet group was encouraged to use a login to track their weight once per week on the site. If they did not track their weight, they were not given access to the rest of the site which contained all of the information they needed to take part in the program.

Obesity is genetic. Very few people can lose any substantial amount of weight and keep it off. Your body is preprogrammed for it’s body weight and this varies with age.
